Trim a video online, free

Cut the boring start and end off a video and keep just the part that matters. Drag the two handles or set the points from the player, then download one clean MP4. Your video never leaves your device.

How to trim a video

    Open your video

    Drop an MP4, MOV or WebM file on “Drop your video here”, or tap “Choose file”.

    Set the start and end

    Under “Trim video”, drag the two handles on the slider. For an exact frame, pause the main player and tap “Set start to player” or “Set end to player”.

    Keep it as one clip

    Make sure “Whole trim” is selected under “Split into clips”, so you get one video of the trimmed part.

    Download

    Tap “Download” on the clip. On a phone, tap “Save to gallery” to save it to Photos or Gallery.

Setting exact cut points

The slider is quick for rough cuts. For precise ones, play the video in the main player, pause it at the moment you want, then tap “Set start to player”. Do the same for the end.

Made a mistake? “Reset trim” brings back the full video.

Trim vs split

Trimming keeps one piece of the video and drops the rest. Splitting cuts the video into many parts. If you want both, trim first, then choose a length under “Split into clips”: only the trimmed part is split.

What you get

The trimmed video is saved as MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio). It is re-encoded so the cut lands on the exact time you set, not the nearest keyframe. It looks very close to the original but is not a bit-for-bit copy.

Tips for a clean trim

  • Watch the live preview before you download. It shows exactly how the clip will look.
  • Choose “Best quality” in the “Export” tab for the sharpest result, or “Smaller file” to share it faster.
  • Want to post the trimmed clip as a Reel? Choose “Reels” in “Resize & rotate” before you download.
  • Your session is kept after a reload, so you can come back and change the trim. Tap “Upload other video” to start fresh.
